Natural History Artist Study Days, behind the scenes at Bristol Museum

January 15, 2014 cheba bristol

Thought this might be of interest to a few of you..

A chance for artists to come behind the scenes at the museum to draw and photograph specimens from the biology collections.

The biology curator will assist you prior to your visit in sourcing unusual and rarely seen specimens from the biology collection in our underground store. We have over 650,000 specimens including taxidermy, pinned insects, shells, corals, eggs, skulls and ‘pickled’ animals, that can be drawn and photographed as reference material for your art work. This workshop is for adults and is untutored but the curator will be on hand to ensure you get the most out of the day.

Friday 31st January

10.00am – 5:00pm

Bristol Museum and Art Gallery

8 Queens Road, Bristol.

Spaces are limited to 6 people per day, £35 each dry materials only. Book here

Please email bonnie.griffin@bristol.gov.uk with any questions or enquiries.
